Geometry Wars Evolved: I played the original Geometry wars to death but I cannot get into this one. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris: Same as with Trine, co op puzzle solving, but mixed with Diablo style monster bashing. Might help scratch your co op puzzle solving itch. You cannot go wrong with this one even if you're not exactly a friend of the genre (like me). I played the following games in couch co op with my two daughters: Diablo 3 UEE: Our favorite. Absolutely beautiful and funny platformer. Friendly fire is always on, which is the reason my daughters doesn't seem to look at me with the same blind trust they used to have. It's a top down shooter in a sci-fi setting that reminds me a lot of the Starship Troopers movie. Helldivers: That game did cost me a lot of dad points. Somehow it didn't resonate as good with my daughters even though it's by no stretch a bad game. We haven't played it as much as I expected though. Co op only in the sense that you build on the fly alliances against other players just to betray them at the first opportunity. preferably SINGLE SCREEN (no Split Screen) preferably story driven, open ended, not linear and hack and slash-y. third person (over the shoulder or isometric, doesnt matter, can be 2d as well) camera.

Towerfall Ascension: this is where family ties are tested. My GF and I would like to play a game together matching this criteria: local, couch co-op for PC or PS3. Sadly the formula got quite a bit dusty for us, but if you're not burned out by the Lego games you should give it a try. Lego Marvel superheroes: Like all the other Lego games it's an absolute blast to play in co op. Sadly there is no split screen in the actual game. Was okay to get used to the controls but ultimately nothing to spent more time with. Star Wars Battlefront: 2 player split screen co op in horde mode like missions against AI and in the training missions. The face buttons are multi mapped and it doesn't make for a quick start. In our quick look we had some problems getting used to the controls. Puzzle elements seem to focus on creating different spells by combining elements.

Magica 2: We played not much of it but we'll pick it up again another time.

Overlord FOE: Funny game, and better execution of the Diablo/Puzzle mix than in Lara Croft. sounded like a good combination but we didn't like it very much.
